another month plus alittle more has past since i have written on here.  i won't give much of an update as i should really be working like crazy, but i thought i may as well drop a little hello to all of those faithful xanga users.  i just want to say that i absolutely love reading up on what is happening in your lives.  it is soo encouraging to hear how everyone is doing.
myself. . . i have been keeping busy with school and soccer.  that is about it.  school has been going fairly well.  i've been enjoying my classes and have some good profs although it has been and will continue to be fairly busy.  soccer is my outlet.  although we don't play a whole lot, it is so much fun just to get out and kick a ball around with some great guys.
like i said this would be really short, but i got to get going.  but take care everyone, and maybe i'll try and update this thing alittle better in a few days.  God bless

Update

Wow, it has been way too long.  Almost two months since I last updated this thing.  I would not even be surprised if no one checked this anymore.
So my first semester of university is done.  It was an alright semester.  It was a year of growth and learning and searching.  Trying to find out who I am and who I will become; what I want to study: what I want to do; where I will be, ect.  Lots of big, heavy questions that I guess everyone must face at one point in their life if not multiple times in a life.  It helps define us and mold us.  Needless to say, I survived the first semester and did alright on the finals.  Marks are alittle lower than usual but I will take them (not like I could do much now to change them)
Christmas break was wonderful much needed.  I went back to Manitoba and it was my first christmas back there in three years.  It was just wonderful to spend time with family and see some old friends.  I was able to spend some time with Chris and Charity which was wonderful.  The last week of my holiday was spent at Vernon, B.C./ Seattle W.A. with the extended Dueck family.  It was a great time to see the relatives again, especially those from out in Deutschland.  My oldest cousin got married down in Seattle and it was a lovely wedding.  Fun times had by all.
So now I am back at school.  I really do not want to be here.  Why?  I have no idea.  Where else would I want to go?  Home.  Where is home?  Where ever I have loved ones.  Close friends and family.  I'm sure i'll be fine once I get into a routine and become preoccupied with school.  But as for now, life is tough and hard.  But I have a redeemer.  What more could I ask for.  What more could anyone ask for.

update

so as i was typing a comment on my amazing cousins site i thought i may as well update all of those who may take it upon themselves to be concerned about what is happening in the life of jori.  so college life keeps flying by.  i can't believe i only have 3 more weeks of classes and then finals.  and within that time i have tests and projects and papers.  what fun.  but what is really interesting is that God gave me a very neat distraction.  i have realized the last two days that i do have some mk blood flowing through me and that i have been desperate for change.  change from the regular.  change from the routine.  so yesterday God was gracious enough to bring a huge wind/rain storm in our area.  trees were falling over all over the place and the power went out.  so classes were cancelled.  which is really neat is that our floor and the floor right above us are the only floors on the entire campus who get some electricity.  we are right beside the generator for the cafe so we steal some of their energy enough for about two rooms to pick up wireless and for the entire floors to pick up light.  the rest of the campus other than the cafeteria is pick black.  kind of cool late in the evening.  the emergency lights weren't even working.  pich black.  from what i have heard about 250 000 people have been without electricity.  but amidst all of this excitement.  if you could pray for the people along the coast where the storm really hit and just that everyone would be safe.  so other than that i do not have much to say.  i can't wait for christmas to see my family.  and i can not wait to see my german cousins.  yeah.  but i am not looking forward to a cold christmas.  i have become such a wimp.  but alas.  homework is calling.  so if you wish to leave a comment that would be much appreciated.  and if you are too busy, a prayer would be even more appreciated.  just know that i think of you often and pray for you often.  God bless

A long time

well this is a shout out to all of you xanga die hards.  first i just want to say that i'm such a hypocrite.  i just love getting all of your updates and  i read them all the time.  probably not nearly half of the people's sites i read even realize i'm alive.  but i just want to tell you that even though i never comment.  i love you all and appreciate sooo much  on  knowing what is happening in your lives.  and since i never update anymore that makes me a hypocrite.

life in college has been alright.  i think i'm somewhere in the middle of where our class is.  from the people i have heard from.  it sounds like there are a few that are absolutely living it up while others are really struggling trying to find themselves in this new stretch of life.  i think the majority of us however, including myself, are in the middle where life is pretty good.  maybe not quite what we were expecting and it definitely could be better.  but in the same breath it could be a whole lot worse.  and that is something to be thankful for.  this last weekend was canadian thanksgiving and it was a good time to reflect on what i was thankful for.  where did i find my joy.  i had never thought about that before but i was challenged this year in where am i joyful, because where you are joyful, those things you are truely thankful for.  i don't know if that makes sence.  so i am pressing on, and enjoying college life.  it flies by so fast,  i have my midterms in 2 weeks.
so i am gonna go but i just wanted to give a shout out to all of you xangaers and say keep it up.  and if you don't.  please write me and let me know how life is and how i can pray for you.
God bless
Jori

Reconnect

I guess after a few months away from this thing i'll give you guys another update.  It will be quick cause i have class but if you want to know more just write me an email.  So the summer flew by much too fast.  I worked doing stucco labour which wasn't fun at all but the guys were great and the money was alright as well.  I have since moved out west to Trinity Western University.  I have been enjoying myself and slowly making more friends.  Last week i had soccer tryouts for the schools club team which i made.  We had our first game yesterday without a practise and we won 3-2.  It was soo much fun just to get out there and play and run around again.  looking forward to that.  and classes are starting to pick up as well.  speaking of which i have to run to one.  but please feel free write me a note.  whether it be a short hi or a long essay, either one would be much appreciated.  love ya all and sorry i haven't been able to talk or write to some of you.  i'll get around to it.  please bear with me as i settle into my new life.  take care

Jori
